Programs that tend to teach one thing or even several things neatly bounded and categorized are generally easy to describe and easy to write about.

IDM is not such a program.

We are an eclectic crew gathering the arts, design, engineering, and humanities in our capacious minds and hands. IDM students reveal terrifically busy crisscrossing mediums, genres, and forms; curious, critical, and creative. This spirit of experimentation and invention is tempered with a dedication to criticality and ethical and social responsibility; we do not engage in 'art for art's sake' or 'design for the market'. We believe the act of creation entails a deep commitment to care.
